Joel Cardis is dedicated to helping companies become more successful. With over 30 years of experience, Cardis has acquired an uncommon breadth of skills, depth of experience and an extensive network. Intrigued with the issues involved in building a business, Cardis became the lead author of a highly regarded book on venture capital, adding both knowledge and an additional network that further strengthens his abilities to help his clients prosper.
Rejecting the role of lawyer as deal-breaker or naysayer, Cardis approaches his job as balancing risk management with business development and opportunity realization. He therefore looks to couch his advice in terms of assessing the cost of accepting a risk against the cost of reducing or even foregoing a business opportunity. Whenever possible, he suggests solutions that reduce risk while encouraging opportunity development.
Cardis employs his analytical skills and imagination to identify and prioritize issues, assess options and design, select and execute optimal solutions to successful conclusions. His ability to grasp both nuance and big picture issues enable him to provide clients with comprehensive and creative solutions addressing both legal and business challenges. As such, he has acted not only as General Counsel, but as Corporate Secretary for various clients.
An accomplished jazz musician, Mr. Cardis concentrates on "improvising" with talented business people to create and build companies. His inventive, practical, hands-on assistance immediately broadens an entrepreneur's ability to leverage ideas into action and action into achievement.
Mr. Cardis is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Dickinson School of Law.
